Project 1: Audio Editing Exercises
Instruction
The combination of sound elements (Speech / Dialogue, Sound Effects and Music) provides an aural environment that supports the action and engages the audience. However, no music is required for this exercise.
I recorded the dialogue by using my phone. I tried to record one by one and also tried to record 3 tracks only for each character.
After completing the audio recording and sound effects download, I started editing the movie and sound effects work in Adobe Premiere Pro. (Ambient volume: -20 dB or less, hard sound volume: -20 dB or less: as appropriate).
Reflection
This was my first time using professional audio editing software. Employing this effective technique in this exercise for a project using Premiere Pro for audio dubbing will allow the editor to improve the quality of the production and better immerse the audience in the narrative.
Observation
Understanding the rhythm and cadence of speech and sound effects is an important part of the decomposition method. This involves listening closely to the original audio and identifying key events where sound effects should be added or emphasized.
Discovery
I discovered that when audio dubbing in Premiere Pro, voice and sound effects need to be effectively synchronized to create an engaging video editing experience. Decompositional analysis provides an organized strategy for achieving this synchronization, ensuring that one component complements the others perfectly. Detailed adjustments are therefore required to ensure that all aspects of the audio harmonize with the visual components.
