Week 1
This week is mainly about preparing slides to give a brief description and initial ideas of our proposal. After referring to the theme of our senior students and our own thinking, we determined three proposals

- Oriental Perfume - Chinese porcelain(Blue and White Porcelain)
- Noise Visualization

Week 3
At the beginning of the perfume research, our brand goal was not clear, so we conducted in-depth thinking after class, and finally established the core goal of the brand: to create a perfume brand with the main function of relieving insomnia and anxiety.
This brand concept not only focuses on the olfactory enjoyment brought by fragrance, but also emphasizes its actual role in emotional healing, physical and mental relaxation, etc. The lecturer suggested that we need to find a lot of research data to support this direction.
Major Project : Week 3
During this week, I was in charge of the production of our brand mood edition, from the packaging design, brand identity and Collateral three aspects of research

Week 4:
This week, our team members drew a sketch of the brand logo for our brand "YUNRUO":
Week 5:
This week, we determined the perfume series and specific flavors to be made, drew some logos, and finally determined the final logo under the teacher's suggestion. The teacher said that we had not prepared the draft of the product packaging, but we finished the content and submitted it after class that day. The results of the questionnaire survey are summarized
We discussed and finished the first draft that day. Next, we improve the details, such as color matching, material selection, packaging opening and closing, so that the packaging can be more intuitive display of the brand concept. Combine the characteristics of the logo, make the packaging design more holistic, and consider how to integrate the logo with the packaging structure.
The following is what I personally completed after the group discussion

I was assigned to make stationery packaging, and after we discussed the choice of main styles and text fonts, I began to work on my design
Here is my design process:

Then I put them on the model and made style adjustments according to the suggestions of other team members

We think there are still some areas that need to be improved, so we are ready to discuss them with our teachers in class.
Week 6:
This week, I made some slight modifications based on the teacher's feedback in class. After the teacher's guidance, our logo has become more integrated. After our discussion, we divided the products into two series, with different main scents, namely the orchid series and the lavender series.
At the same time, we also unified the style of the packaging, using orchids as the background and main colors that match our fragrance
Below are the final stickers and models

After finishing all the models, according to the teacher's suggestion, we made the brand guide. First, I built a framework, established the background according to our brand color, font choice, and wrote the title of each page
After my team member lina finished filling in the contents and all the pictures, I continued to make jumps for each page to facilitate reading and improve interactivity
In order to make each page title and image in the same place, when the page will not change, I did a lot of attempts, and finally achieved this goal
After completing these, it was almost time for the presentation, so we immediately began to assign tasks, and I was assigned to pages 12-21 of slide

Week 3: In the after-class discussion, the lecturer pointed out that we have not yet defined the core goal of the brand, and we need to think deeply about why we want to create this brand and what the real meaning of the brand is. It's not enough to just focus on the gaps in the market, we need to find the core problem that the brand wants to solve.
Week 4: Our brand story this time is all about sleep fragrances. To tackle issues like insomnia, we’re not just focusing on fragrance products; we also need to come up with more ideas for our brand identity before we wrap up the first version. The questionnaire went out a bit late. In this class, we really need to get those survey results instead of leaving them unpublished, so let’s speed things up! Plus, based on the instructor’s feedback, we've made some tweaks to certain parts of the questionnaire.
Week 6: After discussion with the teacher, we got the following suggestions:
Our logo is arranged up and down, and the teacher suggested that we arrange the text and pattern left and right
Product packaging and series expansion
- Each collection has its own flavor and packaging design.
- Brand derivatives (such as moisturizing hand sanitizer, etc.) need to be consistent with the main brand.
- Perfume is not suitable for the brand direction at the moment.
- The brand identity must be clearly reflected on the packaging to enhance recognition.
Material and information integrity
The design must have a unified visual style.
Shopping malls and offline promotional materials
- Promotional posters (Posts) must contain key messages and be legible.
- The style of the scent test card needs to be consistent with the overall brand vision.
- Packaging must highlight the brand characteristics, so that consumers can recognize this is our brand at a glance.
Week 7: The inner page of our brochure was not placed in the ppt of the speech, the poster used the wrong logo, and no physical products were made.
The study of this course enables me to comprehensively apply the knowledge I have learned in the major courses. In this process, I also improve my design ability. How to design products more detailed and beautiful, I am very satisfied with the final product made by our team.
At the beginning of the project, we were not sure about the positioning and background of the brand, so after a lot of discussions and changes, but once we were sure, everything began to go smoothly. I am very grateful for Ms.Vitiyaa's help in this process
In actual product design, I realized that packaging is not just about appearance design, it is also about brand image, user experience and marketing. We finally optimized the packaging scheme to make it both appealing to consumers and conforming to the tonality of the product. The whole process from concept to physical production makes me more familiar with every link of product design, and also enhances the ability of graphic design.
As each member of the team has different ideas and priorities, how to effectively communicate and reach consensus becomes an important issue. With the team running-in, we gradually formed an effective way of collaboration, such as regular offline discussions, clear division of labor, etc., so that the whole project was promoted more smoothly.
This Major Project course not only trained my professional skills, but also made me deeply realize that design is not only an artistic creation, but also a reflection of comprehensive abilities, including market research, user experience and team cooperation. This experience laid a solid foundation for my future study and career development, and also gave me greater interest and confidence in product design.
